I just finished this amazing course about the role of the Global Citizen mindset in accelerating the realization of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) adopted by all UN Member States in 2015.

The sustainable development goals is a useful framework for categorizing the needs of the world and provide us with a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. Most of the problems our world faces today (climate change, lack of energy access, extreme poverty, global pandemics, sustainable development etc.) are global in nature which requires global-scale action and cooperation between nations. I believe that the concept of Global Citizenship could play a pivotal role in establishing this global scale action and cooperation. Global Citizenship is the understanding that we live in an inter-connected, multi-ethnic and culturally diverse world where we continuously benefit and grow with this diversity. Therefore, if the world flourishes we flourish with this as well and whenever we contribute to solutions everywhere this helps us well.

I identify myself as a Global Citizen and Environmentalist who strongly believes that everyone should have access to energy, but it just needs to be allocated more responsibly, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
